Accepting honors for the documentary "Out of
The Pit: Dog Fighting in
Chicago," producer and writer Sierra Cleveland acknowledged
"the people who
do the work," in this case the small number of anticruelty
agents and police officers who contend with the Windy City's
current animal fighting pandemic.
Cleveland described the strong motivation behind her film, which
was about " trying to get it off the streets."
